Trike! Primeval Earth Carnotaurus, the land sprinter

Fast legs, horned head, and a bite radius that runs down targets Rexes cannot be bothered to chase.

Carnotaurus

Carnotaurus is the land sprinter on Trike! Primeval Earth. If you wanted the feeling of an apex but the Fossil cost of a mid-tier, this is the job. It runs down hadrosaurs that Rexes consider too small, it escapes a grown Tyrannosaurus when the smart move is leaving, and it holds the road on a packed Desert without the visibility tax that comes with the king silhouette.

This page stays qualitative. No fake DPS. Role letters sit on the carnivore list: A for solo PvP because of the speed, B for pack because sprinters need targets, A for beginner survival because the exit exists, S for Fossil efficiency because the base unlocks a playstyle, not a trophy. Roster context sits on the dinosaur hub.

Unlock and what you are buying

Fossils buy the Carnotaurus base. There is no pass skin for Carnotaurus in the documented Prime, Chaos, Eclipse, or Primitive packs. The horned head and the speed are the product. If a shop row glows with a Carnotaurus look during an anniversary week, treat it as a limited sale cosmetics row, not a separate species.

Chaos Pass, Prime Pass, and Eclipse do not contain Carnotaurus. Do not expect a skin to spawn this body.

How the sprinter actually plays

Speed is the kit. The sprint is real; what you do with it determines whether the matchup table matters. A Carnotaurus that chases a Rex into open sand is using speed wrong. A Carnotaurus that takes a bite at a juvenile Parasaurolophus and leaves before the herd reorganizes is using speed correctly.

Against larger carnivores:

  • Do not contest a clearing against Tyrannosaurus. The matchup is C. The sprint is for leaving, not for pride.
  • Against Spinosaurus on land, use the speed to avoid the first bite and leave if the fight touches water. Semi-aquatics own the door.
  • Against Dilophosaurus, you win if you commit. NightBeastDilophosaurus is a look; the body is still mid-tier.

Against herbivores:

  • Hadrosaurs are the preferred target. Parasaurolophus and InterstellarSpacialParasaurolophus move in a line. Sprint the angle, take the bite, leave.
  • Triceratops and IcicleTriceratops are not the prey. The horns punish the wrong approach.
  • Pachycephalosaurus headbutts punish overcommit. Take the first hit and leave if it is not a clean kill.

Growth: babies die to everything. Grow in cover using the growth planner. A juvenile Carnotaurus in the open is a highlight for someone else.

Speed, stamina, and the sprint habit

We do not publish stamina numbers. What players report: Carnotaurus sprint is fast and the recovery is manageable if you are not sprinting across the whole island. The habit that kills beginners is holding Shift in a straight line toward a target that is already aware. Sprint angles. Break line of sight between charges.

Red Wood and Pines are the growth neighborhoods. Desert is the hunting ground once you are adult. Menu Island is a landmark that attracts traffic; do not grow there expecting safety.

Fossils and when Carnotaurus is the right spend

Redeem codes first. Buy Carnotaurus when you want a second dinosaur that can actually run, not when you want a second apex. It pairs well with a herbivore base: hadrosaur to learn the island, Carnotaurus to learn the chase.

Premium 1.2× Fossils and VIP 1.5× Fossils / 1.2× growth speed the Fossil path to the next unlock. The sprint does not change.

Map notes:

  • Aquatic Expansion (June 2026) added water Carnotaurus should not enter.
  • Flying Expansion (July 2026) added sky Carnotaurus cannot reach. Stop jumping at Quetzalcoatlus.
  • Anniversary cakes sit on land. Carnotaurus is fast to the pile and fast away if the pile is a trap.

The Asteroth Mission is scheduled for 25 September 2026. If the event is land-based, Carnotaurus is a sane pick for players who want a mobile body that is not the apex.
