Island Map Guide

The Primeval Earth island is a set of biomes glued together, not a single forest with a loading screen. Player tours of the current layout, including the Kaijusaurs new-map walkthrough, split the land into Desert, Red Wood, Pines, and Menu Island. Aquatic Expansion added open seas and underwater routes. Flying Expansion added the sky as a real biome instead of a jump. Learn the land names first. Water and air will still kill a baby that cannot hide on dirt.

Use this page with how to survive for where packs fight and how to grow for where babies should not stand. The embedded map tour is the geography video; watch it after you read the biome notes so the chapter titles mean something.

The main menu is its own camera. Codes live here on the gift button. You do not need to spawn to redeem pe4years or nosril. Menu Island in the world is a landmark biome from the map tour, not a second lobby. Players treat it as a recognizable coast and island mass, which also makes it a meeting point and therefore a hunting point. Do not hatch there expecting tutorial immunity. There is none.

If you are lost after a death, open the menu, breathe, redeem anything new, then spawn into cover instead of onto the first cliff the camera shows.

Desert

Desert is the open biome. Sightlines are long. Sprint trails are obvious. Water is a magnet. Carnivores love it because babies have nowhere to put a hitbox. Herbivores can cross it; they should not grow in the middle of it. If your first spawn dumps you on sand, walk toward the nearest tree line before you eat.

Territory fights happen at Desert water. Two packs arriving at the same oasis is the default PvP weather. A solo juvenile should drink and leave. A grown morph can hold the hole only if the Group is actually with you, not still loading.

Red Wood

Red Wood is the vertical cover biome. Trunks break line of sight. Canopy hides babies from flyers who are not looking straight down. Food for herbivores is easier to nibble without standing on a ridgeline. Carnivores still hunt here, but they have to commit to closer bites. If you are learning the game, this is the growth neighborhood.

Do not assume every shadow is safe. Packs camp popular groves. Keep moving between trunks. If you hear a fight, it is usually at the grove edge, not in the deepest stand. Route around it. How to play is the loop; Red Wood is where that loop is allowed to exist.

Pines

Pines is the other forest: tighter, cooler in the camera, still cover, different silhouette. Players use it as an alternative to Red Wood when that forest is stacked. The same rules apply. Grow here. Do not hold a pine-line watering hole as a baby. Adults will arrive because water is still water.

If you are swapping morphs from the roster, Pines is a decent test biome: enough food, enough hiding, not as much empty space as Desert. Check the tier list before you buy something that only works in open sand.

Aquatic seas

Aquatic Expansion turned the coast and open water into a real map, not a swimming pool at the edge of the screenshot. Semi-aquatics live on the waterline. True aquatics live in the volume. Currents and underwater landmarks exist; the studio trailer language is exploration, fishing, and speed in currents. For a land main, the practical advice is simpler: the beach is a kill box, the deep is a different game, and controls swim reports (Y up / A down on Xbox, jump/crouch on PC) matter the first time you commit.

Do not take a land baby into the sea to “hide.” You will starve or drown the growth bar. Unlock an aquatic on purpose after you can live on land.

Flying sky

Flying Expansion added the sky as a biome with its own stall rules. Hold Shift to flap, release to glide, stall if you stop. Details belong on how to fly. From a map point of view, the sky is a highway over Desert and a sniper perch over water. Landing zones in Red Wood are tighter. Landing in a packed oasis is a gift to the pack below.

Flyers still drink and eat. The sky is not a hunger skip. It is a movement layer.

How to use the tour video

The map tour chapters run Menu, Desert, Red Wood, Pines, then Menu Island. Watch it once with the intent to name landmarks, not to copy a speedrun. Your lobby will not be empty. The video’s empty clearings are teaching tools. In a 30-player server those clearings are occupied.

After the tour, pick one land biome as home for the night. Grow there. Visit Desert on purpose later. Visit water and sky only after the morph matches the biome.

Routing tips that are not spoilers

  • Codes on the menu, growth in forests, fights at water, travel in sky.
  • Menu Island is a landmark, not a sanctuary.
  • If every forest is stacked, you joined a hot server. Leave and rejoin rather than forcing Desert as a baby.
  • Event cakes and gifts during anniversary weeks scatter across these biomes. Route through them; do not camp one bush. Income notes sit on how to get Fossils.

The updates hub is where layout changes post. The Asteroth Mission is scheduled for 25 September 2026 and may add a scripted route on top of this geography. Until that window, Desert, Red Wood, Pines, Menu Island, seas, and sky are the map.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What biomes are on the Primeval Earth map?

Land tours name Desert, Red Wood, Pines, and Menu Island. Later expansions added aquatic seas and a flying sky layer.

Where should a new player grow?

Red Wood or Pines. Desert is open and Menu Island is a landmark that attracts traffic. Forests hide the baby hitbox.

Is Menu Island the same as the main menu?

No. The main menu is the lobby UI for codes and morphs. Menu Island is an in-world biome from the map tour.

When do I use the sea or the sky?

After you own an aquatic or flyer and can already live on land. Those biomes are later layers, not hiding spots for land babies.

Where do packs usually fight?

Watering holes, especially in Desert, and grove edges in Red Wood. Cover is for growth; water is for PvP.
