Apex letters for grown adults. Baby Rex is still food.
Carnivores in Trike! Primeval Earth eat other players, carcasses, and whatever the current map calls meat. That diet is a job, not a personality. On a 30-player server you will share hunts with people who do not share kills. Rank the morph you can feed, not the thumbnail you like.
This page grades the carnivore roster only. Herbivores sit on the herbivore list. Unlock rules sit on the dinosaur roster. Letters are qualitative. We do not invent HP or DPS. TEA - Studios can move a matchup in a hotfix; when that happens the letter changes, the method does not.
Four roles again: solo PvP, pack, beginner survival, Fossil efficiency. A morph can be S in one column and C in another. That is the point. Tyrannosaurus is a terrible first unlock and a dominant adult. Dilophosaurus is a poor island king and a sane first hunter.
Solo PvP
S — grown apex. Tyrannosaurus and the Tyrant line (NuclearTyrannosaurus, BlackTyrant, AlbinoTyrant, DevastatorRex, Primitive Rex) define 1v1s on land once adult. Chaos Giganotosaurus sits in the same conversation as a Chaos Pass threat. Kharnivore is S if the gift box actually dropped; treat it as a trophy morph, not a plan. Skins on these bodies are looks. Do not rank Nuclear above Albino unless a patch says the kit changed.
A — fight or leave. Spinosaurus and Spinosaurus Prime lose some land authority to Rex and gain a water door the Rex does not want. Allosaurus Prime is a real hunter without being the island tyrant. Mutyrant (Chaos Pass) belongs here as a monster morph that still needs its base and a player who can finish growth.
B — pick your fight. Carnotaurus runs down targets that apexes cannot be bothered to chase. TyrantRaptor (DarkSide / BrightSide) hits and leaves; it is not a trade-puncher against adult Tyrant. Yuqivenator (Cyber Battle Yuqi) is a specialist: strong in the hands of someone who bought the pass on purpose, wasted Fossils if you clicked it because the shop glowed.
C — do not contest the clearing. Dilophosaurus and NightBeastDilophosaurus hunt babies, mid-tier, and distracted herbivores. They do not take an adult Rex head-on. That is not an insult. It is how you stay alive.
Kaiju skins such as Distortus Rex sit on a base. Rank the base. Ghidorah and Muto (Muto via a Therizinosaurus unlock) follow the same rule.
Pack play
S. TyrantRaptor, Dilophosaurus, Yuqivenator, Allosaurus Prime. Small and mid hunters stack. A coordinated three-Raptor group beats a sloppy adult that cannot look four ways. Eclipse is relevant here: it unlocks BrightSide and DarkSide without the base, so a pack can match skins without each player owning the roster row.
A. Carnotaurus, Mutyrant. Speed or bulk that still likes numbers. Mutyrant packs look scary and starve if nobody actually kills.
B. Spinosaurus. Coastal packs work. Forest packs beach themselves in trees. Mix Spino with land hunters only if someone is willing to hold the water door.
C. Tyrannosaurus packs. One Rex is a pack. Two Rexes in the same bush compete for the same carcass and teach every herbivore where not to walk. Chaos Giga plus Rex is the same problem with more pass money spent.
If your group cannot talk, you do not have a pack. You have a pile. Read how to survive before you invite four strangers to “just follow.”
Beginner survival
S. Dilophosaurus. Small, easy to hide, cheap enough that a death is a lesson instead of a refund thread.
A. Carnotaurus, TyrantRaptor. Fast enough to leave a bad spawn. Still meat if you roar in spawn.
B. Allosaurus Prime, Yuqivenator — only if you already own the pass and the base. A new account should not buy a pass to “learn PvP.”
C. Tyrannosaurus, Chaos Giganotosaurus, Mutyrant, Kharnivore. Apex babies are dinner bells. Grow a smaller hunter first, then spend Fossils on the king. Premium 1.2× Fossils and VIP 1.5× Fossils plus 1.2× growth speed the retry; they do not hide a baby Rex in tall grass.
Fossil efficiency
S. Dilophosaurus, Carnotaurus. Bodies you will actually play while you learn the island. Redeem codes into these before you shop a movie skin.
A. Tyrannosaurus base, Spinosaurus base. The apex and the semi-aquatic door are worth the Fossils once you can grow them. Buy the body, then the pass.
B. Prime Pass and Chaos Pass skins after the base exists. Prime Pass is Spinosaurus Prime, TyrannosaurusRex, Allosaurus Prime. Chaos Pass is ChaosGiganotosaurus, Mutyrant, Agilipterus. Primitive Pack is Primitive Rex. Cyber Battle Yuqi is Yuqivenator. All of those still need the base except where noted.
C. Kharnivore as a “purchase.” You cannot efficiency-farm a gift-box lottery. Eclipse is the efficient exception for TyrantRaptor cosmetics: both sides without the base. Limited sale skins during the 4th anniversary are C until you already own everything you can grow.
Flyers and aquatics are not filler here. Quetzalcoatlus and Agilipterus belong in the sky after how to fly. Mosasaurus belongs in water after the Aquatic Expansion. Grading them as land carnivores is how people beach a Chaos Mosasaurus on a ridge and call it underpowered.

Does the TyrannosaurusRex Prime Pass skin hit harder?
Treat it as a look on the Tyrannosaurus base unless a patch says otherwise. You still need the base dinosaur to wear it.
Is Kharnivore S-tier?
If you own it, treat it as an apex-style morph. Most accounts will never drop it. Rank it as a gift, not a Fossil goal.
Should beginners start as Spinosaurus?
Only if you already understand water exits. New players survive longer on Dilophosaurus or a herbivore, then move to Spino.
